The Holy See and its legal personality sui generis of public international law

It is considered that the international society is composed of several entities with international legal personality, one of them, the Holy See. Thus, for a better understanding of Public International Law, it is necessary to establish who are these entities and what are their interests within the international society, as well as the existing conditions in the relationship with the other individuals of international legal personality. This article aims to demonstrate the legal personality of the Holy See, highlighting its particularity sui generis as a subject of Public International Law. For this, at first, the international society and the subjects of legal personality that compose will be presented, as well as being part of this legal branch. It will also be identified who the Holy See is and its relationship with the Vatican State. Finally, considerations about the sui generis international legal personality of the Holy See will be presented. This article uses the method of explanatory research, through bibliographic sources mainly from the field of International Law.
