Abstract

This article analyzes the concept and condition of refugee in contemporary times, as well as the difficulties encountered in the face of legal, political, social and police barriers instituted by States. Reflection on this issue is of paramount importance, given the imperative need for greater protection for expatriates, in accordance with the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This is because, in such an injunction, there remains an express obligation to assure every human being, victim of persecution, conflict or war, the right to receive international protection in another country. Likewise, this article mentions the difficulties faced by refugees who, for most of the time, are forced to leave their countries of origin due to hostilities or because of persecution arising from race, religion, nationality, social group or political opinion.
