Abstract

Feminism is a social, political and economic movement that fights for equal rights between women and men. It discusses female empowerment, sorority and subjective experience among women. It’s an alliance in which all are sisters in the battles against male and patriarchal oppression. It’s also a way of understanding, discussing and combating the culture of rape, which blames victims of sexual violence, being a form of social awareness. The aim of this study is to demonstrate how feminism is a strong option for the demystification of rape crime and for the education of young people in order to have the necessary respect for women. The methodology used is deductive, because the theme is pertinent, because Brazil has high rates of sexual violence against women and this crime is even encouraged in social networks, where there are specific pages to distill hatred of women. Disrespect for the condition of women as a human being is one of the main causes of rape culture and feminism struggles to deconstruct the idea that women were born to serve and that they have no rights. It fights for women to be recognized for their dignity and rights.
