Abstract

Objective: To describe risk indicators for the development of babies in a neuropsychomotor monitoring program. Methods: Retrospective, descriptive study, with quantitative analysis and correlation of risk criteria of children discharged from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Joinville-SC, from 2009 to 2019. Results: In the total of 1044 medical records, 48.7%, with gestational age less than or equal to 33 weeks, 35.9% mechanical ventilation, 33% congenital malformation and 32.4% weight less than or equal to 1500 grams. Gestational age and birth weight were associated with mechanical ventilation, malformation, apnea and hemorrhage. And age less than or equal to 33 weeks showed greater associations with severe infection, neonatal meningitis, hypoxic ischemic syndrome (p=0.00). Conclusion: Prematurity and low birth weight were associated with different risk factors and should be monitored in babies, aiming at improving care and attention to the health and integral development of the child.
