Use of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method for analysis of rural roads in the city of Marechal Cândido Rondon – PR

The present study aimed to determine the criteria that make a rural road adequate for the transportation of inputs and agricultural production. The research was geographically delimited to the Brazilian municipality of Marechal Cândido Rondon, Paraná. The methodological procedure was the application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and as research techniques the field survey and 97 semi structured interviews with form application were used. From the field survey, 20 criteria potentially relevant to the adequacy of a rural road were related, and the results of the survey indicated a set of 7 priority criteria.
