Cooperativism is fundamental for territorial socioeconomic development, and it is worth noting the representativeness of credit unions in this scenario. In parallel, contributions of cooperative education are evidenced from the perspective of humanization for cooperative management and practices. Based on these aspects, this article proposes to investigate the applications and contributions of cooperative education, in the light of the context of humanization, in credit cooperatives. Bibliographic research, documentary research and interviews were carried out with managers of three cooperative credit agencies, in a municipality in the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul. The research identified that the strategies and practices of the analyzed agencies contemplate the values, techniques and methods of cooperative education, and that cooperative education is permeated by humanizing assumptions in these places. It is concluded that humanization in cooperative education contributes to the management and practices of the analyzed agencies, impacting on credit cooperativism, cooperativism and society, promoting territorial socioeconomic development.
