This article discusses the economic and professional relations in the field of culture and its relation with the regional development of the state of Goiás. Bibliographical and documentary researches point to improvement of public investments in the cultural and artistic area of the state. These investments have led to a significant improvement in the socioeconomic indicators of cities with a cultural and tourist vocation. In 2016, the Creative Economy represented approximately 2.6% of the Brazilian GDP, in addition to a growth of around 70% in the last ten years. The more public or private investment in this new economic segment, the smaller is the migratory flow of people seeking public services in large urban agglomerations. In its various languages and modalities, culture has become a tangible symbolic asset capable of generating income and jobs, contributing to social, human and sustainable development. The objective of this article is to discuss how the dynamics of the globalization of the economy and the role played in the local economies are related. The Culture Economy moves a range of services articulating development and professionalization. In this scenario, the incentive of cultural public policies to cities is a good strategy for growth and job creation, in addition to generating a climate of creativity, entrepreneurship, business and services that leverage the emergence of innovation poles in the territories.
