Abstract

This article aims to investigate knowledge and identity aspects related to wool craft in the Brazilian Pampa. Therefore, we carried out eight interviews with female and male artisans from Santana do Livramento through a script of questions. The artisans recover the trajectory of their lives along with this passion for weaving individually or in a group, in different ways, preserving rusticity. Following market changes, gathering the knowledge passed through family and courses, wool craft and people who produce it guarantee the vitality of territorial identity of the Pampa with each new garment they produce, full of meanings.

Keywords: Craft. Cycle of Wool. Knowledge. Territorial identity. Brazilian Pampa.
