Abstract

This article aims to analyze the DNA database under the prism of Cesare Lombroso's theory of the Delinquent Man inserted in the current context. Because the DNA database is a central one, where genetic materials collected from criminals convicted by justice are stored, the first thing that comes to mind is a possible resurgence of Cesare Lombroso's theory of the born criminal. Thus, in view of the expansion of the DNA database, the relevance of a study within critical criminology emerges, making comparisons between Lombroso's theory and critical criminology today, in order to verify the compatibility of the DNA database and the Neodeterminism. The research method used was the comparative bibliographic review, based on doctrines, laws and theses.
