Abstract

This article discusses the fundamental right of access to drinking water as an expression of the ecological dimension of human dignity: an analysis of social participation in the National Water Policy in Brazil, based on Law n. 9.433 of 1997. It is always important to address the relationship between human beings and nature, since we depend on natural resources for decent survival, and at the same time contribute to its degradation, preventing a worthy life for present and future generations. Thereby, it aims to answer the following research problem: how does participatory management occur in National Policy of Water Resources in Brazil, taking as reference the ecological dimension of human dignity? Therefore, it is intended to understand how the participatory management of the National Water Resources Policy is carried out with the ecological dimension of the principle of human dignity. Thereby, initially aims to understand the ecological dimension of the principle of human dignity in the constitutional order, analyze how water access and treatment is carried out in Brazil and analyze the participatory management of the National Water Resources Policy. The research technique used was the bibliographic (articles and books) and documentary and the approach method used was the deductive. Finally, it is concluded that access to drinking water is necessary for a decent human existence, as well as the participation of the community in the National Policy of Water Resources, seeking the democratization of access to water resources.
