Abstract

Of all the modalities of putting a infant in a foster family, the adoption is the most complete way, since it inserts the minor in a new family core so that he have a dignified new life, with love, affection and respect. But until the adoption becomes more common, there is a long process to go. However, several obstacles are encountered until adoption is achieved. The present study aims to understand what is adoption, as well as know the difficulties and challenges found by those parents to realize this so hoped dream of adopting. The technique of research utilized in the study was the bibliographic, with book and articles researches, and the approach utilized was the hypothetical-deductive. Thus, it can be concluded therefore, that the delay in the judicial process of adoption, either due the lack of qualified civil servants in the child and youth courts, or to the excess of processes, linked to the attempts of reinsertion of the infant in his family of origin, as well as the demands imposed by future parents on the characteristics that their future children ultimately contribute to drag on adoption for years to come.
