This article discusses the love theme present in some of Cazuza's compositions, based on the Lacanian materialism of the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek. According to this theory, it is possible to understand that, in Cazuza's work, the variations of love resemble the plastic character of the object a, one of the central concepts of Lacanian psychoanalysis. In a panoramic reading, the lyrics address aspects of the same love, which has its structure based on the emptiness of the cause of desire: in Cazuza's production, love is seen as fiction, it can also be adrift from the desire that is in the Other and, finally, it is considered impossible.
Keywords: Cazuza; Love theme; lacanian materialism; Slavoj Žižek.
