Abstract

The study describes the relationship between deforestation dynamics, development and human health among the 184 municipalities in the state of Ceará. The typology of municipalities was constructed through Factor and Cluster analysis. As a result, four well-defined groups were found that exhibit distinct interactions between loss forest, levels of human development and health. Finally, the implications for public policies that seek to promote recovery forest and long-term conservation were presented through development-focused at local and regional practices related to living with the semi-arid region.
