Abstract

Among the theoretical approaches that emphasize goods and services with a significant degree of territorial specificity, the Territorial Basket of Goods and Services (TBGS) and Geographical Indication (GI) approaches stand out. Both approaches share a focus on territorial resources and assets, both tangible and intangible, understood here as elements constituting territorial heritage. These resources and assets are generally at different stages of activation, meaning many are still potential and therefore not effectively contributing to territorial development. Based on an understanding of territory, heritage, governance, and territorial development, this text aims to highlight the potentialities and, prospectively, evaluate which conditions and/or factors are present on the coast of Paraná, in two aspects. Regarding TBGS, it aims to evaluate the composite supply of products and services. Regarding GI, it aims to evaluate two already registered experiences. Methodologically, this involves consulting literature and documents, as well as on-site observations. In the case of IG, a checklist with a Likert scale of significance was additionally applied. Therefore, the text has an exploratory and elucidative character. From the studies conducted, a set of goods and services with a significant degree of territorial specificity was identified on the coast of Paraná. If activated in an integrated manner, these can be considered potential factors capable of positively contributing to the territorial development process.

Keywords: territorial heritage; territorial development; territorial basket of goods and services; geographical indication.
