The present work analyzes the foreign trade’s influence on the microregions of Espirito Santo state. Therefore, beyond a comparison between the capixaba and Brazilian foreign trade, the behavior of ten commercial flows are compared – the sums of the exportation with the imports – and the regional GPDs, besides its opening coefficients. The main sectors and products involved with these sales are identified in each micro-region of the State. As a result, we verify that the major concentrations of these activities are located in places that house big industrial enterprises that were implemented since the 1960’s, In other words, sparsely dispersed in capixaba territory. Among possible measures to reverse this scenario, there is the promotion of activities exchange among enterprises and professionals of different sectors of Espirito Santo’s economy, which would allow to amplify the number of professionals with knowledge about the necessary practices to act in this commerce.
