Social responsibility in credit cooperativism in Nova Petrópolis/RS

Abstract

A society with clarity and understanding of the results of social responsibility can bring results for organizations. The article's objective was to analyze the perception of the community of Nova Petrópolis/RS concerning the adoption of socially responsible practices developed by a cooperative financial institution. Quantitative descriptive research, using the field survey technique, through the application of a structured questionnaire with closed and multiple-choice questions was sent by electronic means. The data obtained from six hundred and nine responses were submitted to an interpretative analysis relating to the research problem. The term “Social Responsibility” is not unknown to the studied community that recognizes its importance, although there are opportunities to increase clarification. There is recognition of the evaluated institution's social responsibility practices, which adds value to the organization's image in the vision of the community of Nova Petrópolis/RS.
