WEBSIG application for location of commercia resources for sicom of Chapecó (SC-Brasil)

Abstract

One of the factors that influence the socioeconomic development of a territorial region, there is the implementation of industrial and commercial enterprises. Factors such as logistical flow, competition and the urban development of the surroundings influence the decision of the place where the enterprise will be implemented. Obtaining this information is not simple, either through the countless databases, often mismatched or due to their nonexistence. In this context, the objective is to develop a Geographic Information System on the Web (WebSIG), applied to the decision to locate commercial enterprises, for the Trade Union of the Chapecó Region (SICOM). The research is qualitative, characterized as descriptive, and following the rigor of the case study, in this case, the city of Chapecó. WebSIG was modeled and implemented using free and open source technologies. Through the assessment of criteria of effectiveness and functionality, and interviews with union employees, the developed georeferencing system proves to be effective and functional, by marking on the map of the city of Chapecó the commercial developments in a given neighborhood, and of a certain activity economical. In addition to demarcating the developments, graphs and indicators of urban development in the neighborhood and the city, they are offered to the user of the system, allowing him to carry out comparisons and triangulations of data, which assist in the decision-making of where to implement the enterprise to which proposes.
