Integrated strategic management of public transport of passengers and their relations with the strategic digital city

Abstract

An integrated strategic city management is fundamental for regional planning, as it offers solutions to common problems in different locations, such as health, garbage collection and public transport, as well the transformation of municipalities into strategic digital cities (SDC) can assist in data collection, transparency, decision-making and inclusion of the population in decision-making processes. The objective is to analyze the integrated strategic management of public passenger transport and its relations with the strategic digital city. The research methodology emphasizes the qualitative analysis of documents that formalize the integrated transport network of Curitiba-PR and the free access to the documents in question. The finding results that documents are in fact freely accessible through information portals for the general population, but there is no document that officializes development strategies for public passenger transport in long-term planning, as advocated by model of the SDC. The conclusion reiterates that city management needs an efficient model for the integration of data and information, which allows transparency and popular participation in decision-making processes. The research highlights the importance of the debate on efficient city management models, seeking to involve citizens actively in the collection and production of data and information, such as the SDC model predict.
