Abstract

Regional disparities in developing economies are seen in various forms of analysis in economic science. Thus, this article aims to study the socioeconomic disparities in the municipalities of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Data are from the Demographic Census of Brazil and cover the years 2000 and 2010. Cluster analysis methods were used from three dimensions: home infrastructure and urbanization; multidimensional poverty; performance of the labor market. The results show that the most economically developed municipalities present the best socioeconomic indicators and make up the same clusters in the three dimensions.
