Basic basket cost analysis in Concórdia-SC

Abstract

The calculation of the basic basket is carried out by DIEESE (Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies) in the main capitals of the country, which monitors the worker's monthly expenditure to purchase thirteen basic food products. Based on the work carried out by DIEESE, the main objective of this article was to analyze the monthly cost of the products that make up the basic basket in the municipality of Concórdia. The methodology carried out was a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the primary data collected in 05 (five) supermarkets in Concórdia, in addition to conducting statistical analysis of them, as well as the bibliographic research developed based on material already prepared on the topic. The main results of the survey show that the value of the Concordian basic food basket has been increasing monthly, the variation of October 2018 when the survey started, for May 2019 it was 14.68%, in this last month the amount of hours needed was 86.02, and the percentage of wages spent on basic food was 39.10%.
